How we run a long-distance move from Indy

  • Pre-move inventory. We walk the home in person or over video and catalog every item. That list is what sets your flat-rate quote, so nothing comes out of nowhere later.
  • Load day. The crew wraps every piece, breaks down furniture, and loads with load bars and straps so nothing shifts once you are on the interstate.
  • Transit. Everything you own goes on its own truck, GPS-tracked the entire way. Dispatch keeps an eye on weather and roads, especially winter ice on the I-65 and I-70 corridors out of Indianapolis.
  • Delivery. We unload, set each piece in the right room, reassemble the furniture, and clear out the packing debris. Nothing’s final until you’ve looked everything over and put your name to it.

One coordinator owns your long-distance move end to end — same person from the first quote to the last box off the truck. Nobody gets bounced between departments.

Everything baked into the long-distance rate

  • A truck that’s yours alone. Your shipment travels by itself. Your shipment never shares the truck, which means it is not held back by someone else’s delivery.
  • Our own crew at both ends. The same company that loads you in Indianapolis is the one that unloads you at the destination. No handoff to a stranger when you arrive.
  • Fuel and tolls. Fuel for the diesel and any tolls are folded into the set price already.
  • Blanket wrap and inventory. Every piece is padded, strapped, and logged, all under our no-damage promise.
  • Disassembly and reassembly. Beds, tables, desks, and shelving come apart for the haul and go back together on arrival.
  • Valuation coverage. Coverage at $0.60/lb per article rides along by default, and full-value protection can be priced in while we quote you.
Good to know: every long-distance job rolls under our own US DOT and MC authority, backed by $1M in liability coverage and full workers’ comp. The building you are moving into can ask us for a COI and we provide it free.

Common questions on long-distance cost

How does long-distance pricing differ from local?

Local jobs are priced on time and crew. For a long haul the price comes down to how much you are moving, how far it travels, and how easy the get-in is at both addresses. We quote one binding flat rate, so there is no weight-ticket surprise waiting at delivery.

Do you hold our things in transit?

No. Your shipment goes directly from your Indianapolis home to the destination on one truck. If you need storage at either end, we offer it through our short-term storage service.

Can you move a car as well?

Cars are not something we move ourselves; instead we arrange a licensed auto shipper so the vehicle shows up on a timeline that fits when your household goods land.

Is a deposit required?

A small deposit holds your date, usually 10 to 15 percent of the quote, and it comes off your final balance. The remainder is due at delivery once you have inspected everything.
